SCENIC / LIGHTING / SOUND / MANAGEMENT
Brandyn is a Scenic, Lighting, and Sound Designer and Engineer for theatrical productions, currently based in Reidsville, North Carolina. Growing up in a family rooted in construction, Brandyn gained early hands-on experience with maintenance, renovation, and electrical work skills that laid the foundation for his technical artistry in theatre.
He earned his BFA in Musical Theatre from Greensboro College, where he studied Technical aspects under John and Sean Saari. Though a performance major, Brandyn frequently served as a production lab leader and strike/load-in team lead for season productions, developing his expertise in design and technical theatre.
Since graduation, Brandyn has worked extensively in theatrical production for local community theatres including The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem, The Theatre Guild of Rockingham County, The Community Theatre of Greensboro, Greensboro Performing Arts, and Summerfield Stage Company. In 2023, he served as the Assistant Technical Director for Unto These Hills, one of the nation’s longest-running outdoor dramas, while also performing as a company actor and taking on the role of Property Manager for the company's housing property.
Brandyn has also held numerous professional roles including but not limited to Stage Management, Scenic Design and Construction, Lighting Design, and Sound Design and Engineering. He currently serves as the Director of Technical Theatre for the Theatre Guild of Rockingham County (www.tgrc-nc.com).
Outside of theatre, Brandyn is an avid photographer, carpenter, and outdoorsman who enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
